A Lori’s Stories performance includes “Stories and Songs from Around the World.”
Each story or song is highly participatory; children can sing along, announce the arrival of "The Wolf!," or act out the part of the Ugly Duckling, accompanied by Beauty, Lori’s guitar. Depending on the number of children, this portion may be followed by "Silly Freeze" dancing and learning a new song, "A Rainbow of Children."

This show is perfect for ages 2-10, and older children love to act as helpers. For very young children, Lori can include more of the pre-school songs which are readily familiar to them. The key is that everyone participates, laughs, sings, dances, and has a great time!
Performances are also available for special family events such as holiday parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties, confirmation celebrations, and weddings. Performances can be individually tailored to your event. Lori has an extensive repertoire of songs and stories appropriate for all ages, from pre-school to adult, and for almost any occasion.
Lori Michael
Lori Michael is a 1987 graduate of Harvard College with a degree in Literary, Dramatic, and Musical Expression. She has been sharing music and theatre with people of all ages for more than 20 years. She has performed in many musical theatre productions and has brought her live singer-songwriter performances to venues throughout New England and Georgia. She has also taught music, both in schools for ages K-7, and as a private instructor for children and adults.
Lori’s Stories was founded in 1993 in Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, Lori performed at schools, libraries, churches, synagogues, coffeehouses, and family events. Now, relocating to her hometown of Atlanta, GA, Lori has “brought home” her special brand of delightful entertainment.

Custom Songs
For those interested in an extra special addition or alternative to a Lori’s Stories event, Custom Songwriting is available.
Lori Michael has been writing songs since she was a child, so during the early success of Lori’s Stories, writing custom songs became a natural extension of Lori’s love for sharing her music with families.
From your list of fun and exciting details about your child’s life, Lori will write a completely original song celebrating your child and family, centered around a special event such as a birthday. Here are two examples:
From “Julia’s Song”
Julia! Let’s celebrate Julia’s birthday!
Julia! Let’s sing about Julia’s birthday!
From “Happy Hannah”
Happy, happy day! Today’s my birthday!
You can come to my house, we can play!
Happy, happy day! Today’s my birthday!
Happy, happy Hannah, happy day!
(These two choruses were written for sisters, Julia and Hannah, ages 2 and 5, and can be sung together in harmony.)
In addition to a chorus like the ones above, each song includes several custom-written verses about your child’s favorite activities, toys, games, shows, best friends, and beloved family members. Songs can center around a favorite theme, such as trains, planes, dolls, horses, or dancing.
Each custom song comes with its own professionally recorded cassette tape or CD, lyric sheet, and guitar/piano chords. Customers have remarked that these songs become “family treasures,” learned and sung during playtime, music time, and on car trips for years to come.

Custom songs can be ordered for special occasions other than birthdays. An anniversary song can mark the special moments of a marriage.
